1 pinch of salt 0,04 g
1 knife point of salt 0,25 g
1 level teaspoon salt 5 g
1 teaspoon sugar 5 g
1 tablespoon sugar 15 g
1 tablespoon flour, lightly heaped 15 g
1 tablespoon oil 8 g
1 teaspoon vinegar 10 g
1 tablespoon soy sauce 12 g
1 tablespoon lemon juice 10 g
1 bunch herbs 50 g
1 bouillon cube 12 g

Save Salt!

  • Use broth sparingly: 1 tsp of broth (grained or instant) contains about 3 g of cooking salt.
  • Cook pasta, rice and potatoes without salt if they are served with sauce or further processed in a casserole.
  • Olives, anchovy fillets or capers contain large amounts of salt. Reduce the amount and chop these ingredients.
  • Use lemon juice in combination with salt for seasoning: this can significantly reduce the amount of salt.
