Order and Delivery Service

When ordering and delivering dialysis products Baxter Customer Service works closely with your dialysis centre and you, both for your first delivery and for your regular supply deliveries.

My First Order

What is special about my first order?

Your dialysis centre will determine your initial order based on your doctor's treatment prescription. Your initial order may include the following materials:

30-60 boxes with a weight of approx. 12.5 kg each and dimensions of 29x47x17 cm (WxDxH)
APD Cycler Homechoice Claria with modem (if applicable)
Table
Bag scale
Accessories such as MiniCaps and tubing system, as well as dressing and disinfection material

Monthly Order

Each month you place your supply order at your dialysis centre.
In your delivery calendar you can see when you have to place your order and when you will be delivered.
Below we show you how to determine your order quantity in 4 simple steps.
Place your order at your dialysis centre no later than the order date on your delivery calendar.
One day before delivery you will be informed by our carrier about the estimated delivery time.

What should I expect on the day of delivery?

Your deliveries will be made by a delivery driver who has been trained to meet the needs of dialysis patients:

He will bring your delivery to your home and drop it off where you store your dialysis equipment.

At the time of delivery, the delivery driver will ask for your signature. Please use the delivery note to confirm the following before signing:

The number of boxes on the delivery note matches the number of boxes
The solution strength corresponds to your prescription
All expected consumables are included.

Preparations for your deliveries

Make arrangements for someone to be available to receive the delivery. Please contact your dialysis centre to consider other alternatives if you will not be home for your delivery.

If no one is available to accept the delivery or you have not made alternative arrangements, please inform your dialysis centre immediately.

What will Baxter do if I miss a delivery?

Your material will be returned to the warehouse and a new delivery will be arranged. If additional deliveries are required repeatedly, your dialysis centre may have to pay additional fees.

To prepare your deliveries, please note the following instructions:

A clear path for delivery is important. Please help us to ensure the safety of the delivery driver during the winter season by providing a clear path (no ice, snow, debris etc.) from the street to the house entrance.
Please restrain all pets, no matter how friendly they are. Secure them in a separate room. This is for the safety of our drivers AND your pets.
If possible, store the product in a space that allows you and the driver to lift and move the product safely without twisting, bending or using a long handle.
The driver uses a handcart to carry your material into the house. The handcart is designed in such a way so that it will not damage any steps. Please arrange a path of travel that allows the use of the handcart.
Can't a small truck drive right up to your front door or if your address is in a pedestrian zone, please inform your dialysis centre.
If your flat is on a higher floor and there is no lift in the building, please inform your dialysis centre.

What do the symbols on my calendar mean?

The clock or telephone symbol indicates the date when you must place your monthly order to your dialysis centre at the latest.

The lock Symbol indicates the date on which it is no longer possible to make changes to the order.

The house or smiley symbol indicates the date when you will receive your delivery.

How to calculate order quantities?

It only takes 4 simple steps to calculate the order quantities you need. Below we give you an example:

Take your delivery calendar and count how many days there are between today's order date and the next but one delivery date.
Calculate how many bags you need for this period.

Example
37 days lie between today's order date and the next but one delivery date. Per day you use 3 bags of solution A and 1 bag of solution B. Then you need:

37 x 3 = 111 bags of solution A
37 x 1 = 37 bags of solution B

3. Count how many bags you have left at home. Do NOT count your emergency stock of 3-5 days.

4. Subtract your remaining stock from the bags calculated in step 2. The result is your order quantity on the order day.

Example
You have 35 bags of solution A and 15 bags of solution B left. Then you order the following quantities:

111 - 35 = 76 bags of solution A
37 - 15 = 22 bags of solution B

Storing supplies

Please store your dialysis supplies as follows:

• In the same box that they arrived in

• At room temperature

• Avoid extreme hot or cold (do not store beside your furnace)

• Out of direct sunlight

• In a clean and sanitary area

• Avoid insect or bug infestation

• Avoid spilling liquid on the cases or getting them wet

• Avoid animal contact

Disposal of supplies

The following instructions will help you with disposal:

• Packaging boxes will be collected by the carrier upon your monthly delivery.

• Dispose of all outer packaging of the products in the yellow bag, yellow bin or recycling.

• The empty double bag system, MiniCaps, CyclerSets etc. go with the residual waste.
